# Kiwi for Asana

Have the agent on a Kiwi step read its Asana task and add follow-up tasks to the project, through Asana's MCP server.

- Your agent works in Asana through its own connection. Kiwi does not call Asana and never holds its credentials.
- A workflow skill can list Asana among the tools it requires. When you supply your agent's available tools to a skill check and Asana is not among them, the check reports `SK15-UNSUPPORTED-TOOL`.
- A project Admin can add links to Asana, with notes, under Connections and bind them to the steps that use them. The agent reads them with `list_connections`.
- The agent can report the tools and plugins it ran with, including its Asana connection, with `report_configuration`.
- The agent submits links to its work in Asana as the step's outputs. People review them, and sign-off stays with the people your workflow names.

## What your agent can do in Asana

- Find tasks from a plain request, such as the incomplete tasks due this week.
- Create a task in a project, assign it to a teammate and review its details.
- List the sections of a project, add tasks to it or create a new project.
- Check the status of a project or portfolio to report progress.

## Set up

### 1. Connect your agent to Kiwi

Add Kiwi's hosted MCP server, `https://kiwiflow.io/mcp`, to your coding agent.

- [Coding agents](https://kiwiflow.io/integrations#agent)
- [Quickstart](https://docs.kiwiflow.io/quickstart#connect-your-agent)

### 2. Connect your agent to Asana

Add the Asana MCP server to your agent with this URL. The credentials stay with your agent.

```
https://mcp.asana.com/v2/mcp
```

- [Asana documentation](https://developers.asana.com/docs/using-asanas-mcp-server)

### 3. Example skill

Publish instructions like these as a workflow skill that lists Asana among its required tools.

```
Read the Asana task and project named in the run's inputs.
Do the work the task describes.
Add a follow-up task to the same project for anything outside its scope, and
assign it to the project owner named in the assignment.
Submit the task URL and any follow-up task URLs as the step's outputs.
If you cannot open the project in Asana, call report_blocker with the reason.
```
