# Kiwi for Xray

Have the agent on a Kiwi step import its automated test results into an Xray Test Execution in Jira through the Xray Cloud REST API.

- Your agent works in Xray through its own connection. Kiwi does not call Xray and never holds its credentials.
- A workflow skill can list Xray among the tools it requires. When you supply your agent's available tools to a skill check and Xray is not among them, the check reports `SK15-UNSUPPORTED-TOOL`.
- A project Admin can add links to Xray, with notes, under Connections and bind them to the steps that use them. The agent reads them with `list_connections`.
- The agent can report the tools and plugins it ran with, including its Xray connection, with `report_configuration`.
- The agent submits links to its work in Xray as the step's outputs. People review them, and sign-off stays with the people your workflow names.

## What your agent can do in Xray

- Authenticate with the client ID and secret of an Xray Cloud API key and use the returned token on later requests.
- Import JUnit, TestNG, NUnit, xUnit, Robot Framework, Cucumber or Behave results, which returns the key of the Test Execution issue.
- Link the imported Test Execution to a Test Plan, a fix version, a revision and test environments.
- Query Test Executions and their test runs with JQL through the Xray GraphQL API.

## Set up

### 1. Connect your agent to Kiwi

Add Kiwi's hosted MCP server, `https://kiwiflow.io/mcp`, to your coding agent.

- [Coding agents](https://kiwiflow.io/integrations#agent)
- [Quickstart](https://docs.kiwiflow.io/quickstart#connect-your-agent)

### 2. Connect your agent to Xray

Give your agent access to the Xray API as its documentation describes. The credentials stay with your agent.

- [Xray documentation](https://docs.getxray.app/space/XRAYCLOUD/44565892)

### 3. Example skill

Publish instructions like these as a workflow skill that lists Xray among its required tools.

```
Start from the assignment's Jira project key, Test Plan key and report path.
Import the JUnit report into Xray Cloud with the project and Test Plan keys.
Submit the returned Test Execution key and its Jira link as the outputs.
The assigned reviewer reads the results in Jira; leave test statuses as is.
If Xray rejects the import, stop after one corrected request and report
a blocker to the step owner with the Xray error response.
```
