Kiwi

Kiwi for GitHub

Have the agent on a Kiwi step open a GitHub pull request for its change and answer review comments, through GitHub's MCP server.

  • Your agent works in GitHub through its own connection. Kiwi does not call GitHub and never holds its credentials.
  • A workflow skill can list GitHub among the tools it requires. When you supply your agent's available tools to a skill check and GitHub is not among them, the check reports SK15-UNSUPPORTED-TOOL.
  • A project Admin can add links to GitHub, with notes, under Connections and bind them to the steps that use them. The agent reads them with list_connections.
  • The agent can report the tools and plugins it ran with, including its GitHub connection, with report_configuration.
  • The agent submits links to its work in GitHub as the step's outputs. People review them, and sign-off stays with the people your workflow names.

What your agent can do in GitHub

  • Read the issue a step works on with its comments, labels and sub-issues, and search issues across repositories.
  • Create a branch, push changed files to it and read any file or directory in the repository.
  • Open a pull request, edit its title, description or requested reviewers, and read its diff, changed files and check runs.
  • Read the reviews and review comments on a pull request, reply to a comment and resolve a thread once it is addressed.
  • Read the logs of a GitHub Actions job to find out why a check failed.

Set up

  1. Connect your agent to Kiwi

Add Kiwi's hosted MCP server, https://kiwiflow.io/mcp, to your coding agent.

  2. Connect your agent to GitHub

Add the GitHub MCP server to your agent with this URL. The credentials stay with your agent.

    https://api.githubcopilot.com/mcp/
  3. Example skill

Publish instructions like these as a workflow skill that lists GitHub among its required tools.

Start from the assignment: the repository, base branch and issue to resolve.
Read the issue and its comments, then create a branch for the change.
Push the change and open a pull request that references the issue.
Submit the pull request URL as the step's outputs with submit_result.
Leave review and merge to the reviewer named in the assignment.
If GitHub denies access to the repository, call report_blocker with the error.
