Kiwi for GitHub Copilot cloud agent
Add Kiwi's hosted MCP server to the GitHub Copilot cloud agent so it can work on your runs and report what it did.
- Connects with an MCP key that a project Admin issues, read from an environment variable or secret instead of written into the settings file.
- Works only in the key's project and acts as the Admin who issued it, until the key expires after 1, 7, 30 or 90 days or is revoked.
- With a write key, reads a run's steps and instructions, starts steps, submits their outputs and reports checks and blockers. A read key can only read.
- Identifies its client and session on every run call, so Kiwi can check that a reviewer is independent of the implementer.
- Cannot record decisions or change settings, so plan approval and final sign-off stay with the designated people and their signed-in agents.
Set up
In your repository's Settings, open Copilot, then MCP servers, and add this as the MCP configuration:
{ "mcpServers": { "kiwi": { "type": "http", "url": "https://kiwiflow.io/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer $COPILOT_MCP_KIWI_MCP_KEY" }, "tools": ["*"] } } }Then add your MCP key as an Agents secret named COPILOT_MCP_KIWI_MCP_KEY in the repository or organization settings.
The cloud agent calls Kiwi's tools without asking you first.
