Kiwi

Kiwi for Zephyr

Have the agent on a Kiwi step record test cycles and executions in Zephyr for a Jira issue through SmartBear's remote Zephyr MCP server.

  • Your agent works in Zephyr through its own connection. Kiwi does not call Zephyr and never holds its credentials.
  • A workflow skill can list Zephyr among the tools it requires. When you supply your agent's available tools to a skill check and Zephyr is not among them, the check reports SK15-UNSUPPORTED-TOOL.
  • A project Admin can add links to Zephyr, with notes, under Connections and bind them to the steps that use them. The agent reads them with list_connections.
  • The agent can report the tools and plugins it ran with, including its Zephyr connection, with report_configuration.
  • The agent submits links to its work in Zephyr as the step's outputs. People review them, and sign-off stays with the people your workflow names.

What your agent can do in Zephyr

  • Find the Zephyr test cases linked to a Jira issue.
  • Create a test cycle and add test executions with a status, an environment and a comment.
  • Update the steps of a test execution with the actual result of each one.
  • Read test plans, statuses and environments, and add issue or web links to test cases and executions.

Set up

  1. Connect your agent to Kiwi

Add Kiwi's hosted MCP server, https://kiwiflow.io/mcp, to your coding agent.

  2. Connect your agent to Zephyr

Add the Zephyr MCP server to your agent with this URL. The credentials stay with your agent.

    https://zephyr.mcp.smartbear.com/mcp
  3. Example skill

Publish instructions like these as a workflow skill that lists Zephyr among its required tools.

Start from the Jira issue key and the test environment in the assignment.
Find the Zephyr test cases linked to the issue and create a test cycle.
Record an execution for each case with its status and the observed result.
Submit the test cycle key and its link as the step's outputs.
If a case is missing or Zephyr refuses an update, stop and report a blocker
to the step owner; the assigned reviewer decides on any failed cases.
