Kiwi

Kiwi for Appium

Have the agent on a Kiwi step drive a mobile app on a device or emulator through Appium MCP and capture what it observed.

  • Your agent works in Appium through its own connection. Kiwi does not call Appium and never holds its credentials.
  • A workflow skill can list Appium among the tools it requires. When you supply your agent's available tools to a skill check and Appium is not among them, the check reports SK15-UNSUPPORTED-TOOL.
  • A project Admin can add links to Appium, with notes, under Connections and bind them to the steps that use them. The agent reads them with list_connections.
  • The agent can report the tools and plugins it ran with, including its Appium connection, with report_configuration.
  • The agent submits links to its work in Appium as the step's outputs. People review them, and sign-off stays with the people your workflow names.

What your agent can do in Appium

  • Start and end an Appium session for the app under test.
  • Find elements, tap, swipe and enter text.
  • Read element text and the page source, and take screenshots.
  • Generate locators and test code for the screens it explored.
  • Install, launch and close apps and manage their permissions.

Set up

  1. Connect your agent to Kiwi

Add Kiwi's hosted MCP server, https://kiwiflow.io/mcp, to your coding agent.

  2. Connect your agent to Appium

Run the Appium MCP server where your agent runs. The credentials stay with your agent.

  3. Example skill

Publish instructions like these as a workflow skill that lists Appium among its required tools.

Start from the app build and the user flow named in the assignment.
Open an Appium session and walk the flow on the assigned device.
Take a screenshot at each checked screen and note any mismatch.
Submit the screenshots and a note per screen as the step's outputs.
    If the session cannot start, stop and report a blocker to the step owner;
the assigned reviewer decides whether the app behaves as specified.
